In 1999, the first students of industrial engineering gained admission to the University of Science and Culture after passing the University Entrance Examination.

As soon as they were admitted, all necessary requirements were met, and the industrial engineering laboratories were established throughout the first year. Since it took some time to set up the workshops, the workshop courses were first held in the Iran University of Science and Technology. Now, they are held in the USC thanks to the well-equipped machinery workshop and welding workshop.

To improve its performance, Department of Industrial Engineering employed faculty members in 1999 when the graduate students were admitted. Years later, it decided to admit students at master level. Finally, the first postgraduate students entered the department in 2006.
